Let's start a new project together
eHealth Software Development

Migration to ASP.NET, Angular and Microservices

Challenge
Pharmeon is a successful IT-company delivering reliable solutions for communication among doctors and patients in Netherlands. Their Product helps more than 3000 healthcare organisations with their online services.
Since 2014 Pharmeon has planned migration of its architecture from legacy ASP technology stack to new solution. To win new customers the company required own content management system, greater choice of features to be used by their customers, responsive and easy customizable UI design as initial task. At the next stage of this process new requirements arose for the project, like new features smooth production, system scalability, reasonable maintainability and many others.
Approach
Initially, ENBISYS experts performed thorough business analysis of Client's Product. Recommendations were done for rearranging the system into Microservice architecture thus keeping it more stable, maintainable and scalable. Entire team agreed to use SCRUM methodology to maximise the team's ability to deliver quickly, to respond to emerging requirements, and to adapt to evolving technologies. We've built classy distributed Scrum teams.
After first improvements Client acquired more customers and total number of constant system users increased to 1 million. This led to the next challenge - we needed to increase system performance and minimise the time spent on customer support.
Solution
We started with detailed roadmap to redesign existing product to ensure that functionality remains available while new technologies are added. The most appropriate technology stack was chosen for smooth reengineering and refactoring of the product. While main challenge was successfully solved, additional requests from the Client were received and now there are 3 teams in this project, maintaining the system, designing new features and creating mobile applications.
Technologies
  • Angular
  • ASP.NET 4.6
  • WCF
  • MS SQL
  • Custom Microservice orchestration system
  • Continuous Integration with Teamcity and Octopus
